Past Exhibitions / Cesare Berlingeri - Cinza Pellin
Cinzia Pellin
Born in Velletri (Roma) in 1973. She frequented Academy Belle Arti in Rome, and graduated with full grade in the course of scenography, with drawing Master Vendittelli. “Cinzia Pellin from some time, is going on a course tending to analyze more and more closer the female universe: a way of inner temper, a kaleidoscope full of charm and enticement, a planet dissected in a myriad of splinters, that get near and far, in the endless play of existence” (L. Guarino)
Allusion, ambivalence, characterize the glance of the artist’s “new” woman who look directly at the spectator, allowing to emerge in the seduction artifice, vulnerability as well as the the very inner self awareness.
It is a research of the womanly as beauty in modern times that finds its enhancement in the enlargement of the detail that fins common features, as if homologated famous actresses and the every day woman.
Cinzia Pellin expresses her art through the pleasure of quoting Pop Art and Nouveau Realism finding her very own specificity through the rediscovery of the manual activity of painting and through the research of reality as innavertibile.
Cesare Berlingeri
Born in 1948 at Cittanova, in the province of Reggio Calabria. He lives and works at Taurianova (RC). He began painting when he was still very young in the Cittanova workshop of his teacher, Deleo, a retired professor from the Liege Academy.
In the early eighties, he started exhibiting the famous folded canvases, conceptual works made of large light linen canvases that folded on themselves provide a sense of depths and transparency to the whole representation.
Through his folded canvases the artist intends to “evoke secrets without completely reveal them”.
It is this desire of concealing, whereby the artist hides the data that would have normally been perceived, that makes him hermetic, or at times cryptic, as the meaning is usually suggested in the marks left on the canvas, marks that are echos graffiti of Tapies.
The artist uses as well as the primary colors, white or pure neutral that is used to materialize light present in the matter. His work is mainly composed by monochrome paintings, that end up becoming chests containing infinite treasures.
