Exhibition of painting by María Inés Aguirre - Mia
“Emotion is a colour and colour is the virtual side of our emotions.”
“Each colour represents a sound. Each painting is a solar flare of colours - a rain of pure forms”.
MIA
"THE MUSIC OF COLOUR" is a collection of works that represents the artist's study of colour. Starting from the silence of her “BIANCO” to the melody of the “SOUND OF MY VOICE”, the exhibition is a path through MIA's studies of the relation between matter, colour and sound.
The basic geometric of shapes becomes the underlying visible system of reality.Even when MIA's painting touches on states of being, sadness or confusion, her euphoria of life and imagination give way to a musical equilibrium.
Maria Ines Aguirre (MIA) was born in Argentina, where she graduated in fine art at Tucuman university. She left her 'land of inspiration' to go to Italy to complete her studies at the Academy of Art in Venice.
She now lives and works in London. Recent works include the London,Copenhagen and Milan Elephant Parades, Jungle City in Edinburgh, Natuzzi/London design week, and her time as artist in residence at Steinway and Sons, London where she painted a Model D concert Grand Piano. She currently has a one man show in Ronda, Spain until the end of November 2011.
